Enlisting the aid of a local photographer that knows all of the inside tips and tricks will let you maximize your experience and improve the quality of your photographs. This is where I can help. I'm publishing insiders guides to all of the best wildlife and nature sites. These guides will show where, when, and how to photograph the best and most productive areas. They include maps, drawings, and example photography. Details on when to go, equipment needed, and what you can expect to find.  There is informaion about nearby facilities such as hotels and restaurants as well.

Synopsis of Site Guides

St. Augustine Alligator Farm
I have been very fortunate to visit the Alligator Farm on numerous occassions. It is without a doubt among the Top 10 bird photography spots in Florida, if not the entire United States. You have access to a dazzeling array of birds and during the spring the rookery is full of birds in brilliant breeding plummage, nesting activity and then ultimately the chicks. The brilliant thing is how close you are able to get to the birds. For flight photography I am able to use my 70-200mm lens.

Dunedin Causeway, Dunedin Florida
One of my local hangouts. It can always be counted on to turn up something. This is a my favorite Tampa area spot for Terns and Skimmers. It's also good for shore birds and waders. There is also a colony of Black-hooded Parakeets.

Venice Rookery
The Venice Rookery is one of the great places to photograph nesting wading birds. The photographer is very close to the action and the activity is awesome. This is especially true in the winter. Go earlier than you expect, chicks will have already hatched here around Christmas.
